What is the relationship between the Triathlon Industry Alliance (TIA) and
Running Industry Alliance (RIA)?

In July 2024, TIA and RIA confirmed a strategic merger. This saw TIA merging its operations into RIA and the two industry associations making use of shared resources.

The goal of RIA x TIA is to foster synergy, industry connections and drive growth for both organisations, with running being a natural connection between them and across multi-sport.

At the heart of this new collaboration, RIA is extending a commitment to support the triathlon industry.

A key benefit for TIA members includes the annual Triathlon Industry Conference on Monday 8th December 2025 at RIA’s established annual members event, The Running Conference (7th -9th December).

What are the benefits of joining the Triathlon Industry Alliance (TIA)?

Membership of TIA (£775 + VAT) provides a range of benefits:

One (1) guaranteed ticket to the one-day Triathlon Industry Conference 2025 (TIC25) on Monday 8th December 2025, with an option to purchase additional tickets for individuals within your team.

Access to all research reports produced exclusively for TIA members over a 12 month membership period. This covers a mix of market quantification research (triathlon participation) as well as consumer insights (via surveys & focus groups), and access to online webinars to review and discuss research findings.

Access for your team members to participate in a number of working groups, exploring a range of opportunities to grow triathlon, and supporting your business on this journey.

Membership of TIA also gives TIA members access to all networking throughout the year, from online to in-person. The main networking opportunity is the annual Triathlon Industry Conference, with an additional networking get-together planned for early June 2025.

When and where is the Triathlon Industry Conference?

The second annual Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC25) is for TIA members only and will be held on Monday 8th December 2025, as part of RIA’s established annual members event, The Running Conference (7-9 December 2025).

The Triathlon Industry Conference is being held at Loughborough University, in central England.

How do I attend the Triathlon Industry Conference?

All TIA members can attend the Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC25), with 1 x conference place allocated per TIA member company as part of your membership (£775 + VAT).

TIA member companies can purchase additional tickets to attend TIC25 for any other staff colleagues who also wish to attend. Additional tickets are currently priced at £175 + VAT.

Attendees at TIC25 on Monday 8th December will benefit from accessing all conference content at the one-day event, with networking opportunities throughout the day, as well as breakfast, lunch and evening dinner.

Overnight accommodation, if required, is not included and would be extra. The TIA x RIA teams would be able to assist with accommodation bookings onsite at Loughborough University with a link and a special members booking offer code (if booked before the end of September 2025).

Early bookings for the conference are recommended to guarantee entry and secure the best accommodation options for your budget.

What should I wear at the Triathlon Industry Conference?

Anyone is welcome to wear what they feel comfortable in as long as it is smart casual. This might include branded polo, t-shirt or sweatshirt along with jeans / trousers and trainers. In the evening the smart casual theme continues. DO bring your running kit and trainers with you for the various activations.

What are the differences between membership of the Triathlon Industry Alliance (TIA) and the Running Industry Alliance (RIA)?

Membership of RIA is for running related organisations. Here, membership provides access to various in-person events including The RIA Spring Gathering (April) and The Running Conference in December (full three-day event).

The main differences between TIA and RIA membership are that:

TIA membership gives access to all triathlon-specific research over a

12-month period and a one-day Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC).

While there will be opportunities for wider networking between the triathlon/multisport and running industries at the Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC) during coffee breaks, evening receptions, etc., membership of TIA only gives access to the Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC), not The Running Conference (TRC).

RIA membership covers the three-day The Running Conference (TRC) and other networking/events that can be viewed here for more details.

Can I be a member of TIA and RIA?

Yes. Companies can join both TIA and RIA.

For existing RIA member companies who wish to join TIA and to send a colleague to the Triathlon Industry Conference 2025 (TIC25), the discounted TIA membership fee would be £625 + VAT. This gives access to all TIA benefits (research, working groups, networking) and 1 x place at the Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC) on Monday 8th December 2025.

Existing RIA members who wish to access both conferences – TRC25 and TIC25 – on Monday 8th December can switch between their preferred conference sessions on the day, as the two conferences are on the same site.

If you wish to have colleagues at both conferences, e.g., one colleague attending TRC25 and one colleague attending TIC25, then you will need to ensure that you have tickets to cover both events. As outlined above, the discounted TIA membership for RIA members includes one ticket for TIC25.

For additional conference tickets, please get in touch with any questions you may have.

What are the pricing options for TIA and RIA membership?

TIA-only membership is £775 + VAT giving access to all TIA research and 1 x guaranteed place at Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC) on Monday, December 8, 2025. For a full list of TIA membership benefits please visit the Join TIA page.

Full RIA-only membership is £950 + VAT. This includes 1 x guaranteed ticket to (three-day) The Running Conference (TRC), plus all RIA member benefits across 12 months, such as access to the RIA Spring Gathering (April) in London, special RIA member rates for access to the European Running Business Conference (B2B), Running USA Conference (B2B) + more. Further details on RIA FAQs page.

Note: an RIA member must be a TIA member too, if wishing to attend the Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC). Here, as outlined above, for existing RIA members, the TIA membership fee would be £500 + VAT. This gives access to all TIA benefits (research, working groups, networking). As part of an RIA member’s access to the The Running Conference (TRC), the RIA x TIA member can attend the Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC) on Monday 8th December 2025. An additional place at TIC for a team member at the conference is £175 + VAT.

Can I get a reduced TIA membership fee as a young start-up, or charity, or join TIA without attending the conference?

For young entrepreneurs (aged 30 years and under) and for registered charities, TIA has options for joining with a discounted membership fee. If you meet either of these criteria please visit the Join TIA page and submit the ‘get in touch’ form. We’ll then reply via email, giving you further details.

We encourage all TIA member companies to attend the annual Triathlon Industry Conference (TIC25), as a key focus point for networking, knowledge sharing, etc. However we recognise that attending the conference may not be possible. So, if you are interested in joining TIA without taking part in TIC25 please get in touch with us via the contact us below.
